When La Mer sent us footage for their collaboration with Kate Hudson, we were immediately gripped by not only the filmic elegance, but also the scale and depth of the project. They had scripted, shot, and edited what were essentially five short films, each embodying a specific emotional state.
Before reaching out to LUCY, they had experimented unsuccessfully with licensing pre-existing tracks, and it was clear to us why: the campaign and concept warranted five original and thematically linked pieces of music, akin to a film score playing out across multiple acts. We created a sonic narrative to reflect the emotional state & palate of each chapter, lacing the arrangements with in depth sound design to vividly bring the picture to life.
